We stoppd at the information centre in Hall's Creek, where we found out about a cattle station we could stay on, between Hall's Creek and Fitzroy Crossing. We drove up the 4kms of dirt road...pretty good dirt road....to Larrawa Station. Once we were set up, we went for a half hour walk down to the river. As it's the dry season, there wasn't much water in it, but it was rather pretty, with the late afternoon reflections, and birds coming down for drinks and baths.
It was such a nice place, we decided to stay an extra day....it was very peaceful and relaxing.
Last night we had dinner over at the station in their outside kitchen...delicious curried beef and rice, with frozen mango and ice cream for dessert. There were a few other people there...some girls from overseas who are working there, a couple of medical students from Perth uni, who are spending a few days learning about the Kimberleys in case they decide to work there after uni.
These young bulls have just arrived at the station.
These cattle are typical of what was on the station.
Dave found zebra finches in a bush near the homestead.
