Day 14- Dunmarra to Katherine

Left Dunmarra about 9.30am and drove up to Daly Waters, only about half an hour up the road. The area consists of a pub....a very quirky one!.....camp grounds, caravan park, holiday units and souvenir shop. There's just a steady flow of caravans going into the place.
On our way we came across the couple on the tandem, cycling towards Darwin.
The next stop was Larrimar...The Pink Panther Hotel....another quirky pub with a free zoo out the back. It had mainly birds....lots of different finches...emus and a freshwater and saltwater crocodile.

There were various changes to the landscape again...lots of areas were burnt out...looked like it was for bushfire control. You can see the anthills more clearly in the burnt out areas.
After looking at the birds, we went and had a picnic lunch under a tree in the campground.
We continued on to Katherine and booked into Springvale Homestead caravan park. It's a beautiful spot...very peaceful...very friendly....lots of birds ( ducks and guinea fowl)....little honey-coloured kangaroos. We've decided to have 3 nights here and rest up for a while. The old homestead above is only a couple of minutes from where Rosie is.
